With the current multitude of names already confirmed getting people excited for the weekend to remember this August, the list has just grown once more with a HUGE number of new additions.
While the main stage is already jam-packed with superstars including Jimmy Eat World, Imagine Dragons and You Me At Six, as well as the headliners Blink-182, Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age/Paramore, the NME/Radio 1 stage, often regarded as the stage to get noticed on, is offering more and more artists the chance of a lifetime.
This summer, Red Fang, a quartet from Oregon, USA now onto their sixth release, along with Peterborough trio The Wytches will join headliners The Courteeners, Bombay Bicycle Club and Disclosure on the stage, while over on the Festival Republic Stage, there are eight new acts set to thrill their audiences. These include Dolomite Minor, a rock ‘n’ roll duo from Southampton along with The Royal Concept from Stockholm. Headlining the stage are Palma Violets, Band Of Skulls and Augustines.
The BBC Radio 1 Xtra has also added a number of artists – including Sinead Harnett, a recent performer at the Wireless Festival, and Bad Rabbits, a post R’n’B quintet from Boston. Headliners are Giggs, Pusha T, Danny Brown and Joey Bada$$.
Not to be left out, the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage has added the likes of house and techno producer/DJ SecondCity, indie-electro trio We Were Evergreen, and The Tea Street Band from Liverpool who ran a pledgemusic.com campaign in order to create and release their debut album. Finally, on the Lock Up Stage, Blacklist Royals, Empress AD and Misty Miller join headliners Jimmy Eat World, Of Mice And Men and Gogol Bordello.
