With numerous bands and artists already set to perform in the capital in the coming weeks, more and more talent is taking to its stages. Among them are Japan's most daring rock duo VAMPS, formed of vocalist Hyde and lead guitarist K.A.Z., VAMPS look to leave their mark in the eyes and ears of the British public with their upcoming show at Koko, Camden on March 28th; as they enbark on their ONE-OFF European Headline show. “I’m really looking forward to getting a good curry!” jokes Hyde when quizzed on what he is most looking forward to upon arriving here,
"I'm aware London is famous for
having really good Indian food!"
The bands’ latest album
‘Sex, Blood and Rock ‘n’ Roll’, a
collection of their best songs,
improved and re-recorded, was
released in September in three
formats around the world and is
in Hyde’s own words: “Vamps at
our best. I hope it becomes a sort
of 'VAMPS bible' for our fans.”
Despite having known each other
since 2003, being a band since
2008 and gaining huge sucess in
Japan, the pair remain relatively
unknown to the majority of the
UK and yet the duo aren’t daunted at the thought of performing in such a well-known venue. “This is our only European date this year so far and compared to our last show, in October, the stage is going to be bigger and more spacious,” admits Hyde. “We hope to use this to our advantage, to show people what an ultimate VAMPS style show has to offer.” Will there be anything special planned to mark the occasion? Hyde is coy in his response saying only: “I’ll be sure to have a good think about what we could do in terms of surprises!”
Inside Shock Magazine will be present at the show and interviewing the band ahead of their one off performance in London, so be sure to check back and read all about it!
